38 Witnesses – The new crime movie by Lucas Belvaux
His film, “38 Witnesses“, received the Special Jury Prize at the most recent edition of the in Courmayeur because it is a powerful work in which, unexpectedly, neither the killer nor the victim are the protagonists. He is Lucas Belvaux, the Belgian-born filmmaker who discovered cinema first as an actor and then as a director. In this film, based on the book by Didier Decoin, “Est-ce ainsi que les femmes meurent?” and freely adapted, it is through the silence of the 38 witnesses that, as in a Greek tragedy, we see the representation of the human weaknesses and strengths. Here is our interview with the director.
