69th Venice Film Festival – The Golden Lion to Kim Ki Duk and all the winners
And the winners are… The 69th Venice Film Festival ends as expected: the Golden Lion goes to Kim Ki Duk for “Pietà”: forceful, ferocious and reflective. The director receives the award at Sala Grande and says thank you by singing a typical Korean song. Silver Lion for best directing goes to “The Master” by Paul Thomas Anderson and the two protagonists of the film Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix share the Coppa Volpi. The young Hadas Yaron receives the Coppa Volpi for best actress for the Israeli film “Fill the Void”, while the Premio Marcello Mastroianni goes to Fabrizio Falco for both his interpretations in “Bella Addormentata” by Marco Bellocchio and “È stato il figlio” by Daniele Ciprì. Best screenplay is “Après Mai” by French director Olivier Assayas.
