69th Venice Film Festival – The Master by Paul Thomas Anderson, starring Joaquin Phoenix
Eyes focused upon one of the films that before the opening was among the favourites for the Golden Lion. The film – set in the Fifties and centered around the story of Freddie Quell, a navy vet trying to go back to normal life – was described to the crowded journalists in the press conference room by director Paul Thomas Anderson, an elusive and laconic Joaquin Phoenix and the Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman.
