71st Venice Film Festival – Alejandro Iñárritu opens with Michael Keaton and Edward Norton
The 71st edition of the Venice Film Festival started on Wednesday. Alejandro González Iñárritu opened it with Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). The director of Amores Perros and 21 Grams is back with a film having a different stylistic and narrative register. The viewers laugh and have something to chew on during this black comedy telling the story of a struggling actor played by Michael Keaton. Also starring Edward Norton, Emma Stone and Naomi Watts. During the day, the President of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano, paid a visit to the Venice Lido. The film One on One by Golden Lion winner Kim Ki-duk was presented at the Giornate degli Autori, Venice Days.
