71st Venice Film Festival – Francesco Munzi speaks about his Anime Nere
Gloomy family feud, Calabrian western. Anime Nere, by Francesco Munzi was described as such. The film, presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival, was acclaimed with long applauses at the end of the official screening. We met the director and he told us about the risks and difficulties in telling this story. Shot in Africo, Calabria, the feature film is a journey into the heart of the ‘Ndrangheta and the suffering of a crime family. It has the feel of a play and is very promising.
