Clooney and the stars of Monuments Men – The close encounter that you were not expecting in Milan
Are you serious? George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Jean Dujardin, John Goodman, Bob Balaban all in Milan for a premiere? These were more or less the words that fans and insiders uttered at the news of the arrival of the all-star cast of “Monuments Men,” the film based on the novel by Robert M. Edsel that George Clooney adapted for the big screen and which he also directed. Maybe it was the proximity of Clooney’s house on the Lake Como, or the desire to visit Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” one of the many pieces of art cited and saved in the movie? The film is inspired by the true story of the greatest treasure hunt of all time and tells the story of a group of seven soldiers, composed of museum directors, architects and art historians who, during Second World War, reached the front lines to recover works of art looted by the Nazis. We interviewed George Clooney, Matt Damon & Co. on the red carpet prepared for the occasion at the UCI Cinema Pioltello.
