One day this pain will be useful to you – Faenza’s adaptation of Cameron’s bestseller
A new “The Catcher in the Rye” during the hot summer of New York. This is how it was defined by James Sveck, the protagonist of the bestseller “One day this pain will be useful to you“, Peter Cameron‘s bildungsroman from which Roberto Faenza has taken the homonymous film. The story portraits – ironically and with passion – of an adolescent dealing with the dilemmas and the dynamics that are typical of his age: understanding who he is and finding his way. Even if this means fighting with his – weird – family. “Told” even by the voice of Elisa, protagonist of the soundtrack, the movie was presented at Rome Film Festival and hits the cinemas this week.
