Rome Film Festival 2013 – The winners of the eight edition
The eight edition of the Rome Film Festival came to an end on Saturday. The Golden Marc’Aurelio Award for best film was assigned to Alberto Fasulo’s “TIR”. The international jury, chaired by James Gray, awarded the film that tells the story of Branko (Branko Završan), a man from Eastern Europe who decides to leave his job as a professor to work as a truck driver so as to give a better future to his family, despite having to bear the distance from his loved ones. The Best Director Award went to Kyoshi Kurosawa for “Seventh Code” and the Special Jury Prize went to Andrei Gruzniczk for “Quod Erat Demonstrandum”. As expected, the awards for Best Actor and Best Actress went to Matthew McConaughey for his performance in “Dallas Byers Club” and to Scarlett Johansson for hers in “Her” by Spike Jonze.
