Rome Film Festival – Eli Roth, Filippo Timi and the notably absent stars
The eight edition of the Rome Film Festival reaches the halfway mark. Presented in competition on Tuesday were “Out of the Furnace” by Scott Cooper and “Foreign Bodies” (“I corpi estranei”) by Mirko Locatelli. Notably absent were director Cooper and actors Christian Bale and Casey Affleck. Conversely, there was Filippo Timi, lead actor in the successful film by Mirko Locatelli in which he plays the role of a father coping with his son’s illness. Minister Kyenge and Baustelle, the band who wrote the soundtrack, walked the red carpet. Tuesday was also Eli Roth’s day, the wild director and actor, master of horror and splatter, who presented “The Green Inferno”.
Interesting and courageous was the film “Border” by Alessio Cremonini, which tells the story of two Syrian sisters forced to leave their country because of the war.
