The 70th Venice Film Festival – Emma Dante’s women and adventurer Mia Wasikowska

Women win the second day of the Festival. They are the real protagonists today, starting from Emma Dante’s in her first film and first Italian film in competition entitled “Via Castellana Bandiera” and based upon her book of the same name. They are strong and determined women who put themselves to the test. It is also the case of “Tracks”, directed by John Curran, in which Mia Wasikowska plays the role of Robyn Davidson, the adventurer who crossed the Australian desert. Other important event of the day was the Honorary Golden Lion to William Friedkin, the legendary director of “The Exorcist” and, more recently, “Killer Joe”.
