EICMA 2013 – The new challenges of the Japanese giants
Japan was the great protagonist of the 71th International Motorcycle Exhibition. At EICMA 2013 many were the new models presented by Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki. Starting with Yamaha that brought 13 premieres to Milan, among which the highly anticipated naked MT 09, the bike of the manufacturer from Iwata with a 850 cc 3-cylinder engine capable of developing 115 horsepower. And more, its little sister, the small two cylinder 689 cc, the MT-07. and the two Supersport bikes derived from MotoGP, the R1 and the R6 blue edition. Honda doesn’t want to be left behind and presents a burst of new models, 6 entirely new models and 7 completely revised. With the new CBR1000RR Fireblade SP, the CB650F, the CBR650F, the CTX1300, the CTX700 and CTX700N, the Japanese giant wants to be Italy’s favourite brand, at least for the number of sales. As for Suzuki, all attention is focused on the final version of the V-Strom 1000 ABS, while Kawasaki launches its first maxi scooter in the history of the brand, the J300.
