New York Fashion Week 2012 – Beckham and Michael Stipe at Yamamoto’s show

Audience full of stars for the Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto and his brand Y-3 that this year celebrates 10 years. Among others, at the New York shows there were A$AP Rocky, Anton Yelchin, Brook Lopez, Isabel Lucas, Lupe Fiasco, Jesse Williams, Natasha Bedingfield, above the soccer player David Beckham and Michael Stipe, lead singer of R.E.M., who we interviewed both. Presented at St. John’s Center, for the occasion transformed by artist Devan Harlan into a futuristic location with 3D screenings and with Jiro Amimoto’s music, the Spring Summer 2013 collection by Y-3 re-examines the key elements of the avant-garde aesthetics of the Japanese brand: bright fluo graphics, voluminous silhouettes and the three stripes’ motif, once more suggest innovative interpretations of how style and sport go hand-in-hand.
