Vienna 1900 – Klimt, Schiele and their time

Early twentieth century Vienna, with the artistic experiences of the Secession and Wienerwerkstatte, gave birth to the Modernism movement. As a tribute to this charming and multifaceted subject, Basel’s Beyeler Fondation presents an extraordinary exhibition (26.09.10-16.01.11) featuring around 200 works, including the famous portraits and lanscapes by Gustav Klimt, the characters by Egon Schiele and some paintings by Kokoschka, Gerstl and Schonberg. Curator Barbara Steffen gives us an introduction to the exhibition.
