Lisa Hannigan – The songs, the places and the travels of “Passenger”
Irish, born in 1981, Lisa Margaret Hannigan is one of the most interesting singers and songwriters of contemporary indie folk panorama. Ironic, pleasant and with an inborn musical talent, Hannigan grew inside Damien Rice’s band before launching her solo music career with the album “Sea Sew”, nominated at 2009’s Mercury Prize.
In this special documentary, not only she opens up the doors of her beloved hometown – Ireland – but she also takes us to Baltimora to tell us the genesis of her new album “Passenger”, produced by Joe Henry, who already collaborated with Elvis Costello and Ani Di Franco, released in Italy la January.
Lisa Hannigan will present it live next May 7th at Milan’s Magazzini Generali, during the only Italian gig of her spring tour.
